Similar to how grey otter was made, this otter was only slighlty larger in size with a different colour palette. I chose to use the Teddy Bear Brown underglaze by Amaco Velvet Underglazes. This colour requires many layers of paint and I didn’t apply enough even coats which can be seen in the paint streaks lighter patches of brown. Although I forgot to apply white underglaze to the belly, the creamy colour of the raw bmix clay contrasted nicely with the darker brown anyways.
Luckily there were no broken limbs on this one and the lid separated cleanly with some gently taps. This otter sits next to the grey otter on my night stand to hold hair ties and memory cards.
